Kalloni’s traditional settlement

per person

Considered as a traditional settlement, Kalloni is one of the most picturesque mountain settlements of Grevena. It is mentioned in the archives of the Holy Monastery of Zavorda in 1797, while it is known for its stone craftsmen. Samples of the traditional architecture and its wealthy past are the stone houses, the fountains, the elementary school of 1914, that houses a folklore collection, and the church of St. Nikolaos. The church, built on top of an older one, is a three-aisled wooden-roofed basilica with a polyhedral arch. An ownership inscription on the roof referring to the year of construction in 1864 is preserved. On the west side there is a later belfry.
